Comments: Interesting site in light of the hell of therapy I
survived, the cult of "recovered memory therapy". I am
making a link from my page to your "The Antipsychiatry
Reading Room" for any who would like to check into the
abuses of psychiatry. I was given both anti-depressants and
tranquilizers while in the above mentioned cult therapy, and
then all the side effects I was having, headaches, eye pain,
stomach problems, and nearly the whole list as in the PDR
were interpreted to be those things these cultists call
"body memories" of past abuses repressed/dissociated and the
need to go in search of what the pain was in relation of
what supposedly had been done to me that I repressed. In
other words by use of "guided imagery" "dream
interpretation" suggestions and
visualizations the stomach pain of such could be
connected with an abuse scene. Which is nothing more in
reality then fantasy brought on by the suggestions of the
therapist and in turn by them called a recovered
memory and thus treats this visualizations/fantasy as
reality of something that really happened. Even telling the
poor patients to trust them as they know it happened
and is true one is told to trust their recovered
memory as true and to treat is as truth. And if one
should question that perhaps the memory is not
real the cult therapist tells his patient they are in denial
and will never get well until the believe the
recovered memories of abuse and that it did in
fact happen. And when a brainwashed patient breaks free,
gets their own minds, reality and thoughts back again these
cult leaders of repressed memory therapy cry
that they didnt do any thing wrong as it is within the
standard. Where does the standard come from
it comes by way if many are practicing a
modality of therapy, no matter how bogus, unscientific, or
harmful to the patients it is okay because many are doing
the same thing. Yes, folks this is the standard by which
therapists are allowed to practice their art upon the
innocent public. It is a free for all as long as others do
the same things. And what do the licensing boards do
NOTHING. They are owned and ruled by the guilds, which are
paid by the members, who are therapists.
