Hard Ball

      I.
      Playing hard ball
rapacious gravity has its way with all
      cares not that I gyrate
      with clumsy aimless locomotion
      that my life's water
screams through my boiling tempest teapot mind
      to join the ocean

      II.
Where is the king, tyrant or president
to veto this wrong and debasing judgement
      wherein should such power lay
      truly just democratic government
      or assemblies heeding mumbo-jumbo,
      believing hearsay

      III.
Defer, avoid the settling of accounts
      let tragedy and carnage mount
      grab what you can
      deal it toward your center
      thinking you'll have a private
      paradise to enter

      IV.
      Legislating, promulgating,
      condoning patterning flaw
to what they call law I say pshaw
nothing like just order exists I say
      till the never-coming judgement day
